Week 43 - Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo is a 2003 American-Australian comedy-drama animated film written and directed by Andrew Stanton, produced by Pixar Animation Studios, and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It tells the story of the overly protective clownfish Marlin (Albert Brooks) who, along with a regal tang called Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), searches for his abducted son Nemo (Alexander Gould). Along the way, Marlin learns to take risks and to let Nemo take care of himself. It is Pixar's first movie to be released in cinemas in the summer. The film received overwhelmingly positive reviews and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. It was the 2nd highest-grossing film of 2003, behind The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, earning a total of $868 million worldwide.

What a way to make up for being late so often! I think I do really well on all of my Pixar films (maybe because they all have a lot of detail, being 3D?). I really wanted to include more than one or two characters, like I usually do, and I thought this up! Nemo's up in front, since Marlin and Dory are "chasing" him across the ocean. I really love this movie- the music brings tears to my eyes (Thomas Newman is one of my favorite composers!), and the ending makes me so happy!

Next week- Fantasia!
